Nowitzki injures elbow
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki injured his elbow in a loss to the Houston Rockets in a strange incident that also left forward Carl Landry missed several teeth.
Both players were knocked out of the game after a collision knocked five teeth out of Landry’s mouth while several became stuck in Nowitzki’s elbow.
Nowitzki drove into the lane and was fouled by Landry, causing the injuries. The forward proceeded to take his two foul shoots, making one with his left hand. He is right-handed.
He was then taken to the locker room for X-rays and stitches. The injury is not thought to be very serious and Nowtizki is listed at questionable for the team’s game Sunday at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Landry, meanwhile, is listed as day-to-day. He was taken to an emergency room after the incident.
